Half Birthday

January 7th my boy turned 2.5 and it was a great day. Since my birthday is the day before and Chet's is the day after, we had lots of celebrating going on and he sang Happy Birthday three days straight.

I've noticed in the last few weeks he is turning into a big boy rather than just a toddler. He is LOUD. He looooooves cars. And trains. And planes. And tractors. Pretty much anything that has some sort of a motor. He loves to make the specific noises for each one. He loves to make them crash. His favorite thing to do is lay on the floor and watch the wheels move as he moves the cars around.

He loves to cuddle and is such a big softie. But in an instant he can be running around the house screaming and crashing into things and then saying "Almost fall!' when he falls to the ground.

He has a temper like mad. And is very particular about everything. Some would say that resembles me. I have no idea what they are talking about.
Lately his speech is getting better and he is putting more words together. Sometimes he catches me off guard, like this morning, I went to get him out of bed and I went to rub his back and he said "No touch me, Mama." Um ok what?! He's pulling teenage boy moves like that. And refusing to kiss me. He only lets me kiss his cheek and then runs off laughing.

He is warming up to sister and likes to push his boundaries with her. He finds it hilarious when I lay her in his bed and then he tells me she is cold and needs to be cuddled up with his blankets. I can't wait to see them grow closer.

Happy half birthday, Q. You are loved.
